It’s cold and cruel the world of men.
in it we feel so lost
We sleep and dream of better things
We escape the harsh reality
To hear the sirens song
In dreams we learn
Solve the greatest riddles
In dreams we fly afar
To wake again at morning light
With our war torn hearts
The world is dying inside us
And outside has lost its magic
We see the news filled with despair
And weep, it’s oh so tragic
But worse still our depression
Our burning need to die away
Is inside our very brain
Eating like a parasite
Let go the pain and fall asleep
Dream of elf queens and dragon kings
Where fire dances and flowers sing
Rest and you may be anything
For you are made of magic
You can be a god yourself
An elf, a cat, a dragon
You can dream up anything
I believe in you my child
I’ll be there waiting
By the waterfall you shall see
My love for you is vast
Go I’ll be there soon no more tragedy
To the land of dreams

You are Made of Magic
Rest, rest your weary head.
The day is long and never ends.
Mornings filled with dread,
But if you sleep then dream,
Of places old and magic.
Go, dear one, to the place of dragons.
The waking world is cold and cruel,
people in it lie.
Sleep and dream of fantastic things
Where pterasaurs still fly.
There you’re free of worldly care
To play in fields of flowers.
Yes there you can wile away the hours
Sleep and dream of happy things,
forget for now the misery,
for there Lady Aldra sings,
That you are filled with magic!
The Second Battle
The mist covers the valley
The warrior king clad in armour
blue leather streaks of silver
The crest on his chest, A dark Z
Zandikor, the eternal light
The horses whinied, the skys violet
Thick with ash of war and pain
Her, in black leather, hair pinned
Sweet scent of cherry blossom on wind
The battle maiden, mistress of war
“it begins” deep guttral his voice
a suprise to even he, she nods
“Another nightmare Koraki?”
Tightens her gauntlets and readies the bow
Is it? He wonders silent, bodies all around
“War, constant in my head I fight.”
“War, Koraki, it is real. We both fight.”
“Where are you? With me?”
She shoots, her target struck in the heart
“Waste no time, Damien, the day draws.”
Damien…
“Sora?!” She runs into the fray
Sora the day draws and night ends
Lady of shadows my life I spend
Seeking your soul’s mortal shell
If you are out there say you are well
Here I am waiting, waiting Aniya
My troubled moon find me soon
Eternal Dreams
The heart would cease to beat
The day I lose the dream
My love for her is such
That I will forget this world
And hold the dreams as true
To stand aside from reality
Approach unending sleep
There uhindered by broken hearts
She is, bold and strong
The lady of eternal sorrows
And her king the shade of agony
Vaulted Heart
Lady, I love you.
The dreams they don’t leave me.
I keep dreaming, the soldier fighting the eternal war inside.
The corpse king
standing at the edge of a cliff,
the cave yawns in the mountian. Princess are you there?
Will you lend Koraki your wings.
Fly to freedom,
fly from this dark place
where we can’t hide.
All eyes on us here,
their judgement creeps ever near. Come, my dragon queen,
I’ll hide our love, secret, safe,
in the vault of my heart.
His Queen
Caged inside lovely palace walls
The king sits next to empty throne
A man so dignified he has it all
But must he tend it all alone?
How it he dwells upon the maiden fair
The one who stole his heart away
If only she were sitting there
Alas all he’s ever loved they never stay
Yet patient he rests upon his arm
Watching those large dark doors
For he is certain she isn’t far
Soon he’ll have the lady he adores
A queen so noble worth the wait
Her eyes as green as the sea
In firm gaze sets him straight
A prayer this maiden he soon might see
Until then caged inside his loneliness
The skáld king whiles away the hours
Writing stories of love and happiness
For his queen the elegant flower

Priestess Kikyo (Dec 2012)
By Damien Knight
She who walks the heavens
Will she look on me
Smile with loving grace
At the man she sees
My Lady of light
Be my fortitude
Will you see me saved?
My Kikyo, ever shrewd
Priestess of heavens
Bless me darling
Save my wretched soul
So I might be your king

Dragon Queen
By Damien Knight
Ever the sweetest of visions
I lay my head down for the night
Are you there Luna dancing in moonlight?
And in the day, sun bathes your raven hair
The call of the conchshells echo the sea
My dreams refuse to make you reality
Will you dance like a dragon across the sky
Tragic I can’t join you there
When I wake once more alone
I’ll pray lady of shadows my sins atone
For now I dream of her in flight
And with that I say good night

Shadow Knight
By Damien Knight
The death knight, the warrior, perfect
For dead he serves eternal.
His stance sturdy, erect,
His heart cold as solid stone.
Life cannot touch his soul,
Pain he does not feel.
How I envy his demeanour cold,
With apathy of steel.
His face a mirror to mine,
I wish I were a heartless knight.
To no longer ache inside,
Just stand and face my fight!

Your Bard, Her King
By Damien Knigbt
Listen to the words of the bard
Hear him speak that you might not sorrow
Only line and verse convince you
But it isn’t me, yesterday, today or tomorrow
This is my lair, my home, my abode
And here I am the dragon king
Would he claim such fancy title
Then why believe when it is I, Koraki who sings
I have intentionally not written verse
As often as I had, lest it confuse you
But this is my cave, mine, I was here first
I should not have to tread soft in my castle
I am but a bard to you, singing song
Aniya she’s out there, my queen my everything
It is for her ultimately I crow verse for
And when I find my soulmate I’ll be her king
