One Day?

Hello, my love, I write to you
These uninspired lines of melancholy blue
To paint my soul for you to see
Black as night caged in misery
Why? you ask I do not know
But here we are, and I can’t let go
Of the hope that I’ll see your face
And you will one day find your place
At my side and in my arms
With me to protect you from harm
Until then this weary prince of pain
Will happy see you in his dreams again

Broken Doll: A Vision

By Damien Knight

I dreamt last night of you so fair
In my arms you stood with gentle care
I held you, your glassy obsidian hair
Draped over my shoulders just right there

My heart froze to feel you limp against me
Like a broken doll, for me to carry
All the weight of your sorrow and beauty
Another vision, another lie, another misery

I knew looking into your dark eyes
You would once more speak my heart’s demise
Lady of Shadow’s I know my dreams aren’t lies
Stood as if your frame fractured, your heart cries

I would say so much, I want to hold you
Lift you up and speak things true
I know, it won’t ever be, I can’t love anew
My heart is walled, no one will ever truly do

Tragic Souls

By Damien Knight

Here I am, patient, a shadow in the night
There you exist the fragment of my light
If I cannot love you, if fate shan’t permit
Then let me befriend you, I won’t forget
Not a second goes by the visions haunt
Pain, Aniya, of each reincarnation taunts
I am aware of the web I have weaved myself
The fact I do this, can’t be anyone else
Despair not my darling sakura bloom
Wipe the tears and shake the gloom
I see everything, understand nothing
I am here for you, misery’s tragic king

For The Best

By Damien Knight

Her eyes glow as crystals
Her lips painted to smile
She made my life so full
I was a hobby just a while
I hate myself for how I feel
Did I fall for this Mirage
The pain, tears are real
It hit as a barrage
My Sora, shy, elegant, determined
I do what is best, deny
I would not be forgiven
If I told her that kind of lie
I won’t be sad, she’s real now
Aniya, my vision, and happy
I’ll live, love and let go
Someday may she forget me

Fading Answers

By Damien Knight

I want to answer, fear to reply
I cannot shake the vision in mind
Just a far dream, a pretty lie
The way she smiled with her eyes

If I answer it will break me
A heart is no sturdy thing
I, such a fool, trusts blindly
Daring to dance among the trees

Like all things of beauty, gold
The shadows fade and the image lost
Her small round face not mine to hold
Every detail fades growing cold

Am I to answer those words that echo
So similar to the one in dreams
If I dare? no I must let it go
Yes just as the vision lets me go

Healing Dragon (2009)

By Damien Knight

Going down swiftly
Spiral toward the dirt
Crushed, broken
The heart hurt

Long for salvation
From the pain
Going down fast
It rains

Death imminent
Knocking at the door
Beg for anything
Don’t care anymore

Then he sees
A shadow in the dark
Flies toward him
To heal his heart

A gentle hand
On his chest
She calms him
Pleads he rest

Lady of Shadow

By Damien Knight

The pale moon is not as bright as your lips,
your smile fades the twinkling starlight.
Nor does the sun stroke like your finger tips,
warm, your hands grip my soul embracing tight.

Your grace spreads a blanket across the night.
Your touch all I need for my heart to race.
Dripping sweet your voice in my ear is right.
Tender sensation with you I have place.

Many claim their love is as Aphrodite,
they have not beheld my dearest lady.
Your radiance divine, your strength mighty,
you, like Helen of Troy, drive men crazy

I would bask forever in my need of you
wearing desire proudly, I love true.
