The traditional study of morphology in paleontology is changing with the use of X-ray and tomography technologies. X-ray Computer Tomography (CT) Scanners and other X-ray techniques are aiding our understanding of fossils in greater detail. Traditional paleontology required digging fossils from their matrix which destroyed the samples to study them. New technology can penetrate dense rocks with resolution in the microns.

My writing prompt today is “What do you look forward to every week?” The thing I look forward to is my meetings with Dr. Wulff. He is my professor in mineralogy. He is a quality professor and I feel I have improved so much taking his class. I have made a lot of progress in my studies because of these meetings. I thought I would only be progressing in Mineralogy but I have found that it has helped my study habits entirely.

I think this story would make a very scary movie. A horror movie. It’s about a guy killing their friend and then regretting it. I believe the setting is in Italy. It’s sad but evil. All of this is my opinion.

So last week the summer semester started. I had taken spring semester as a break from classes, so I was a bit rusty. So much so I forgot the semester started last week and not this week. Oops, my bad. Anyway, been catching up as much as I can. Philosophy class is awesome but Spanish sucks big time.
Why does Spanish suck? Well, it’s just not challenging enough. I am a week late, yet I did a whole week of class work in one day. I mean really it shouldn’t be so easy. I been told to just go with it.
I can’t wait till fall classes. I will take classes concerning my major in the fall. I am a Biology Major at a community college. I absolutely love doing biology but to be honest I can’t wait till I graduate and move to a university that way I can do what I love: Geology.
I have always wanted to be a Palaeontologist and I am hoping a Geology Major with a Biology Minor will get me closer.
Anyway, I hope to write many awesome things in this blog about various topics for now.
Update Note: I wrote this in a blog I originally had on blogger. It was called Into the Shadow’s View. I forgot I even had a Blogger. It now is a new extension of this blog called “The Shade of Writing on Blogger”. I doubt I will post stuff there often but it makes it easier I think for me to comment on blogs ran on Blogger.
As for this post I am now at University studying Geology. I ended up dropping my minor. It was better just to focus on my major. With that I would like to remind everyone that this semester I have a research trip to the Mojave. If you wish to help fund that please click the donate button for it below. Thanks.

My narrative is cursed! I lost the disk file 5 times and the USB file once. I love to write but writing the same paper 50 times is too much! That is all I can say!
Thoughts on this journal.
Seriously I remember this. USBS had just came out. This incident was the final straw and why I dropped English 100. I was tired of the teacher talking about how she hated to write. I was pissed she added a question on the test involving a football teams score in the game the night before. But after explaining that my floppy disk got a virus she still wouldn’t accept my narrative because it was late. I walked out of class and dropped it. I took the course at a community college later and passed. A TA should never teach a course like that.

First off sincere apologies for missing Tiptastic Tuesday. Everything is still very topsy turvey in the Shadow Lair Household. We have been unpacking still and on top of that I had midterms this week and next. This brings me to my Wednesday Wisdom:
My first midterm was in Mineralogy. I was so embarrassed. I had studied all week and I thought I was prepared but when I sat down this feeling of doom took over. The professor, Dr. Wulff, handed the test and I read over it. I couldn’t recall anything I had studied.
Now my teacher is not a tough teacher, he isn’t this brick wall that you can’t approach. While I struggled and wept silently over the test other students would get up and go to the prep room and ask questions. I became more disparaged meanwhile my classmates would sit back down more encouraged. In this situation who is the fool? The man who held his silence with pride and embarrassment or the ones who spoke out their ignorance?
I was most definitely the fool here. I would love to say I realised what I was doing that instant. I did not and I sulked out without directly handing my page to the teacher with my tail between my legs. If I had only asked my teacher about Radius Ratios and made a point that I didn’t understand he could have helped me. I did not ask and so likely did poorly. It is my mistake and I accept this.
Ask, it doesn’t hurt even if the answer is “No,” or “I don’t know.” At least you tried.
