Blog Updates and Goals for 2021

Blog Centered Updates

I will return to posting regularly on this blog, though for myself I will only post the Monday Motivations. I shall have the posts first thing Monday mornings CST time. My children will post stories and art when they can.

I also have or will take down all the Aldaria posts as I finalize my novel. I found the subscriber feature to the blog to be unusable. I do not wish to have the Aldaria work posted publicly at this time, though I may in the future.

Greetings everyone,

Today my kids finally accepted invitation to operate as Authors on the blog. This means that I no longer will be placing by “so and so” in writings unless it is written by our Travel Blogger Aaron.

Blog Update

By Damien Knight

For several weeks I’ve had an outpouring of muse. Today I feel I’ve run dry again. I deleted several poems for personal reasons. I am going through a cycle of depression and feel like I should just focus on my novel. After all raising two kids and taking college courses is hard enough. I’ll make sure to have at least one post a day.

Motivation Monday: Be Like a River, Go with The Flow

Hey guys, this week I begin driving lessons! As you can see by the exclamation mark, I am very excited. I am also real nervous. I have not driven since my wreck in 2009. That wreck left me concussed and terrified of driving even though I was not at fault. Anyway, that’s beside the point.

Another exciting thing is the Geology spring break trip. I will go to the Mojave! I know little about the trip yet but I will write about it when I get back. Things are flowing, some good, no lots good but even when I got good flow I know life isn’t always smooth so today, My Motivation Monday is:

When the river flows, it does not avoid the rock but embraces the rock. Over time, the rock in the river is rounded and changed and the jagged edges become smooth. In this way we too must embrace obstacles that cannot be avoided. When a river cannot make it through rough terrain, it’s path changes. It is not wrong or unmotivated to change direction, to avoid obstacles which otherwise hinder us. But if it cannot be avoided (School Tests, Job interview, a Marriage) we must welcome, embrace the change, the hindrance and reshape it into our benefit. Be like a river my friends and go with the flow.

Social Saturdays: An Attempt to Connect

-Damien

Well we here at The Shadow’s Lair have been BUUUUUUSY. No YouTube videos in ages from us (I apologize)  and sporadic blog postings. I have so many over due restaurant reviews I need to post too.

Anyway today is Social Saturday. Every Saturday I try to answer questions asked by followers. I didn’t get any yet but the door is still open.

We are still moving into our new house. Process is slow moving. Kids still enjoying attending college classes with me. The only thing is transportation to and from school has been Uber and that gets expensive.

If you all like The Shade of Writing please go to our Patreon and support us. Even a dollar helps and will get you listed as a supporter on our Follow Fridays.

Thanks.

Slow Day

Thoughts By Damien Knight

Today I did mostly lessons with the kids and spending time with family. I managed to keep up with the literary challenge. I am working on the novel so I might only be able to make 1 post a day until the chapter is done. I hope not. Thanks guys.
